A frost protection trace heating system was required to protect a run of external cold water pipework. ESH designed, supplied and installed the system using type VCBOJ/08 constant wattage heating cable.

The new University Technical College specialises in computer science and engineering courses. Within this large scale project, ESH designed, supplied and installed two separate trace heating systems:

• A frost protection system to the external LTHW and BCWS pipework
• Also a hot water temperature maintenance system to the DHWS flow pipework

Horton Road, Middlesex

For this large plastic processing solutions company, over 300 metres of type VCBOJ heating tape was supplied and installed in order to frost protect 3" and 4" stainless steel pipework.

Railway Terrace, Rugby

For this relatively small project, we supplied and installed a trace heating system to provide frost protection of the external heating flow and return pipework.

The Sock Factory, Leicester

Work is nearly complete to convert an old sock factory in Leicester into student accommodation. The work included conversion and extension of the existing building to form 34 residential flats to accommodate 173 bedrooms for students. Here ESH designed, supplied and installed a trace heating system to temperature maintain the hot water service pipework at 55°C. This job required over 700m of H2OWAT55 to complete.

125 London Wall (Alban Gate)

125 London Wall, also known as Alban Gate, is a postmodernist building on London Wall, home to some for one of the world's leading investment banks. 

The trace heating project here for ESH was to provide a temperature maintenance system for the internal hot water service pipework within an ambient temperature of +18°C. Type H2OWAT heating cable was installed throughout.

Buckinghamshire University Technical College

This brand new UTC, once open, will specialise in IT and specialist construction courses. Here ESH supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to the external low temperature hot water flow and return pipework on top of the colleges roof.

Gatwick Airport

ESH supplied the insulation contractors with a large number of ready to install / factory terminated, hot water temperature maintenance trace heating kits.

Harrods, London

A fantastic project within the world's most famous department store. ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a trace heating system to provide frost protection to the heating, chilled and condensate pipework. 

* When Is Frost Protection Trace Heating Required? *

Fuji Film, Cleveland

ESH supplied Fuji Film with frost protection trace heating kits for installation by their own engineers on site. The ready to install / pre terminated self regulating heating kits were designed to be fitted to external chilled water pipework.
